Daily itinerary

This is the arrival day at Kathmandu, our representative from Global Treks will receive you with the warm “Namaste” and transfer you to the hotel, where you can get refreshed. 


After having a lush breakfast in the morning, we will catch the flight to Nepalgunj, our first stride towards Upper Dolpo Rara Lake Trek. This one-hour flight will take you to the culturally rich city of Western Nepal. After visiting the local culture of the Nepal-India border we will head towards our hotel. Overnight at Nepalgunj. 


Our morning starts with a fresh breakfast. As prescheduled, we fly towards Jumla, this flight approximately takes 20 minutes.  It is an iconic city of Karnali, also a gateway to the Karnali region. We will conclude our day in Jumla.  


This morning our ascend towards Chere chaur commence after the relishing breakfast. During this trek to Chere Chaur, we will cherish the rich scenic beauty of Western Nepal. We will conclude our day at Chere Chaur, which is located at 3055 meters elevation. 


Our morning begins with a warm breakfast. Now, we climb towards the Chalachaur, which passes through the Jalajale pass. The trail becomes steeper from the Jaljala Chaur, however, difficulties easily get forgotten by the jaw-dropping views of the Himalaya. We comfort ourselves at the Chalachaur overnight. 


The following morning, we headed towards the Sinja Valley. This ancient valley was identified as the glorious city of the Khasa kingdom. Moreover, the trail to Sinja is also a cheerful walk, passing through the dense forest highlights the rich wilderness. Overnight at Sinja valley. 


Our trekking recommences after a delicious breakfast. During this route, we will partner with the aesthetics of Laha village. As we approach Ghorosingha, the trail gets steeper, on the other hand, this trek also provides humongous opportunities for a great snap. We concluded our day at a very picturesque Ghorosingha at 3050 meters elevation. 


After the sun kisses the Himalayas in the early morning our trek also catches pace, we will climb towards Rara Lake, our “Setpiece” destination. At Chuchhema Danda, we will catch the awe-inspiring views of the mountain region and wilderness of Rara National Park. We will bypass the Khatyar Khola and the beautiful village of Murma. After a cherishable trek, we will stay overnight at Rara Lake.


This morning begins with a breathtaking view of Rara Lake, the largest lake of Nepal, historically residing at 2290 meters elevation from sea level. Today we will relish our day at Rara Lake, discover all the splendid views and capture all possible aesthetics of Rara. Boating and fishing are the main sources of refreshment here at Rara Lake. Furthermore, the virtue of Rara gets doubled by the spectacular view of Chuchemara, Ruma kand, and Malika kand peaks. Our day concludes at Rara lake. 


In the following morning, we will take a warm breakfast at the lap of Rara Lake, after that we will hit the road. We will return from a different route this time towards the Pina village. This route traverses through the rich scenic places of the Mugu district. We will sojourn at Pina village. 


We recommence our descending, this time through the Ghurchi Langa pass, this pass has an elevation of 3485 meters. From this pass, we will have a glimpse of the higher mountain peaks of this region. Our ultimate destination for the day Burma village is also known as the Nauri Ghat, and known as the most beautiful village of Upper Dolpo Rara Lake Trek. Overnight at Burma village.


After having breakfast, we will head towards Jumla. We will pass through the Hima River and the thrill of the suspension bridge. After an hour of walking, we will reach the hot spring, where we can wash all our tiredness. With our refreshed body, now we will walk past the Danphe Lagna Pass to reach Jumla. We will stay in Jumla.


This day we will catch an early morning flight to Nepalgunj, here we will have lunch and catch another flight to Kathmandu. After reaching Kathmandu, if you want to commemorate your trip, you can do some shopping in Thamel, the tourist hub of Nepal. Overnight at Kathmandu


This is the last day of our trip. After breakfast, our representative will drop you at the airport according to your schedule. You will be taking tons of good memories from this trip. It is a farewell “Namaste” until you visit Nepal for your next trip.

You should know

This paragraph is intended to provide essential information on personal belongings required for hiking the upper Dolpo Rara Lake Trek. Most of the heavy items are not needed, so make sure you have personal belongings with you, such as money, a camera, and a cell phone. Here we enlist the necessary accessories according to body parts.

Upper Body (Head, Ears, and Eyes):

       Shade Hat - It protects the sunburn by keeping away the direct sunlight to your eyes, ears, and neck. Besides that, a warm synthetic hat also covers your ears.

       Sunglasses - These glasses are UV protective, and protect you from different sun blindness. If you wear prescribed glasses please consult with your doctor. Here, normal sunglasses are sufficient.

       Balaclava, neck warmer, ear muffs, and a warm hat are generally proven enough for the upper body.

Hand:

       Liner Gloves - 1 pair

       Warm Wool Gloves - 1 pair

Core Body:

       Lightweight thermal tops T-Shirts - 2/3 pieces

       Waterproof shell jacket - 1

       For Women's Sports bras containing no cotton - 2/3 pieces

Lower Body:

       Nylon hiking shorts (Quick drying type) - 2 pairs

       Shell pant - 1 pair

       Trekking pants - 2 pairS

       Waterproof hiking pants are preferable

Medicines and First aid kits

During this trek our guide will also carry the first aid kit bag, however, we recommend you to carry your own first aid kit bag.

       Excedrin (for altitude related headaches)

       Ibuprofen (for aches and pains)

       Imodium/ Pepto Bismol Capsules (for upset stomach and diarrhea)

       Acetazolamide 125/250 mg (for altitude sickness)

       Personal sized first aid kit containing waterproofing tapes, band-aids, moleskin, and anti-infection ointments.
